Follow the order shown by the deer task

Read the deer’s current notebook or album entry. If it tells you to follow, stay with that stage rather than repeatedly offering stew. Let the deer reach and finish its drinking stage before moving to the food step.

The official correction specifically puts following and drinking before the stew offer. No waiting duration, fixed river location or travel shortcut is documented in that source.

Check the notebook or album again

After drinking, recheck which action the notebook or album now requests. Continue to the stew offer when that is the displayed stage. This page does not replace the game’s next-step display with an invented food-button sequence.

If the deer does not reach water, or the instruction remains stuck after the visible drinking action, the source does not establish a player recovery command. Keep the current step and game version for a bug report; do not restart the save to force progression.
